Siloam Springs, AR:  The Online Market is Open!

Join us for Kids Day at the Market!
The 2nd Saturday each month.
8am-12pm
The Power of Produce (POP) Club provides a fun opportunity for children to engage in the local food system through conversations directly with farmers, educational games and demonstrations, and exposure to new fruits and vegetables. In addition to participating in educational activities, POP Club kids receive POP Club tokens to spend at the market, allowing them to make their own shopping decisions at the market. This program is set-up for ages 3-12.
To participate in this year’s POP Club all you need to do is login to your Locally Grown account, add a “Pop Club Kids Day RSVP” for each participating child to your cart, and check out! This will help us know how many kiddos plan to stop by during Kids Day. Don’t forget, you’ll have to “RSVP” each month.
SiloamSprings.LocallyGrown.net
*Creating an account is easy, if you haven’t already done so! No credit card required to create an account OR to RSVP.

Champaign, OH:  Long Monday

Radio’s on
Windows rolled up
And my mind’s rolled down
The headlights flashin’
Like silver moons
Rollin’ on the ground…
(John Prine)

Easing into this Monday with a mellow tune, and groovy attitude…

The day is a bit overcast, a bit slow to the start, and a perfect chance to get your weekly orders in!! So much, I mean SO MUCH on this little local market, to offer!!

And, did you know that this month is the anniversary of the opening of this market? 13 years!!!! What?? I know, believe me, it is so hard to think back to the very early days, but here we are, the little market that could!!!

We continue to thrive, we continue to add new talent, new vendors, and we continue to add new customers!! We also have such a high retention rate for our very loyal, weekly customers, who support this market, each and every week!!

Each week, I say a Thank You, for the continued love that you all give this market!!

Growers News:

WELCOME Foster Bakery: New to our Market, highly recommended by NashPhilly.

Do you like bread? Enjoy this staple guilt-free by buying a whole wheat loaf from me. Unlike many commercial bakeries that use bromated/carcinogenic ingredients, I use simple and minimally processed ingredients to make a delicious and filling bread. Bread made from whole wheat flour contains greater amounts of protein, fiber, and vitamins. 2-3 slices meets 15% of your daily iron needs and over a quarter of the recommended fiber intake. Whole wheat bread is also a great food to aid weight loss (ask me: I lost 20 pounds after I started making this bread)! This loaf makes approximately 10-12 slices + 2 endpieces. Slice as you go for best quality (unless if you plan to freeze it). Since my bread doesn’t contain any preservatives, it’s best to consume or freeze within 3-4 days of picking up. The bags are freezer friendly.

Yentz Family Farm:
(Corrected, forgot to sent under proper farm name!)

Here at the farm we have been busy planting the garden for our summer bounty and will have our grand opening for events on May 11th! As you can all imagine we are full of hustle and bustle and want to be sure to provide everyone with their favorite goodies for Mother’s Day! We will have a limited offering this week but will open back up to our full assortment, and some new items next week!
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone and wishes for a great holiday weekend!

Safe and Sound Soap Co.: This week I’ve added a new product for Mother’s Day. My Citrus Gift Baskets! Each basket comes with an Orange Bergamot Room Spray and Hand Sanitizer, as well as a Lemon Zest Body Scrub and a Citrus Bar Soap! Each item is tucked into a cute gold wire basket with some decorative paper shreds. You won’t have to worry about buying a gift bag because it’s already in a cute basket! I also decided to continue running my Laundry soap sale. This will be the last week that I’ll have them discounted for a while so if you’ve been thinking about ordering some now is the time!
I also have added two new scents to my Car Air Freshener collection. The Lavender car freshener is scented entirely using essential oils. It’s relaxing and light, the perfect scent to relieve stress on your morning commute to work. The Suit and Tie Car Air Freshener is scented using the highest quality blend of non toxic, vegan, phthalate and paraben free fragrance oils. It smells very similar to mahogany teakwood, so if that is one of your favorite scents you’ll love this one.

Calico Farms: (corrected – sent under wrong farmer name cls)

TWO gluten-free options for you this week: Peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip & chocolate crinkle, both equally delicious in their own ways!

New this week are our wild blueberry thumbprint cookies – a rich, buttery cookie with a generous dollop of wild blueberry jam baked right into the center.

All cookies are sold in 6-packs, and are organic & vegan.

Our mild organic salsa is here – canned in 16 oz jars & perfect for dipping, topping tacos, nachos, eggs, etc. We use fresh tomatoes and there’s no added sugar, just freshness in a jar. This has become a customer favorite.

New this week to our wellness items are our citrus shower steamers – so refreshing, with grapefruit & lemon essential oils to turn your shower into an aromatherapy spa experience. Sold in a resealable 2-pack.

Valentine Cottage: Getting ready to start gearing up for the fresh veggies coming out of the Garden this week. Back in stock this week freeze dried local strawberries, freeze dried apple bites, turnip greens powder, freeze dried pineapple bites and one of my favorites freeze dried sugar snap peas.

Rainbow Hill Farm. Several live produce plants available and Strawberry Plants, more to come. Excited to be back this season.

Emerald Acres: Delicious Lettice Mix and Lettuce Mixed Heads, Sugar Snap Peas, Spinach, Spring Mix Flowers and Strawberries.

Tailwynds Farm: We have some new cuts of beef available. We have a Picanha Roast Cut. This cut can be grilled to perfection, has wonderful flavor and a similar texture to a sirloin steak and to top it off try a homemade fresh strawberry pie for dessert. If you have not tried a Tomahawk steak we still have some available. We have had amazing reviews on these cuts with customers saying it was the best and most tender steak they have ever eaten. Fire up those grills and give one a try. We have many crops already growing and plan to have all the farm fresh vegetables available as soon as they start coming in.

NashPhilly: Several prepared items in the Soup, Seasonal Side Dishes and Noodles, Pasta, Italian Sauses Category. Perfect for your upcoming Mother’s Day meal or this weeks meals.

Sow’s Ear Piggery: “BEST-SELLERS” this week: mild pork breakfast sausage (no MSG) and pork chops! Heritage-breed, pastured pigs on non-GMO/non-soy/non-corn diet. More cuts to be added soon!
