Middle Tennessee Locally Grown:  Welcome New Farmer! And New Pork Products!

Middle Tennessee Locally Grown market

will be open for your orders till Tuesday evening at 10 pm.

The market is open now, and these late announcements mean that I will leave it open for your orders a little later tonight – till midnight. If you need to place a late order Wednesday morning, please text me to be sure that’s OK. (Linda: 931-273-9708) If you have already placed an order this week, the software will combine the two for us at pickup. Pickup of all your orders will be on Thursday at any one of the locations listed in the pickup section.

Remember: You can change the pickup location anytime you want. Feel free to do so because of changes in your job situation, illness, or for any reason at all.

Please support our local farmers, all of whom live within thirty miles of our market. Shorten your supply chain! Shop local!

Please share this mailing with a friend and invite them to become a customer and share in all this local farm goodness.

This week we welcome Paisley’s Acres to the market. Ed and Mary Dulin, located in Morrison TN, grow organic flowers and produce. Their quality products can also be found at the Manchester, Tullahoma, and Shelbyville booth markets.
Please note: only the tomatoes are listed this week, due to time constraints. Look for peppers and some other items to be added next week.

Andra Martens from Sow’s Ear Piggery writes:
Sows’ Ear Piggery has just listed a few new products: one uncured bacon (1 lb, sliced), 2 small tenderloins (12 oz. each), and 3 pork roasts (3 pounds each).

The Greenwood family loves to enjoy watermelon lemonade- simply blend fresh watermelon with any lemonade of your choosing and enjoy a delicious summer drink!

We also have sweet corn available for $6.50 a dozen or $.75 an ear.

Along with cucumbers, potatoes, cabbage, green and yellow beans, zuchinni, summer squash, many types of lettuce, salad mix, green peppers, hot peppers, herbs, carrots, beets, broccoli, and cauliflower – the stand is well stocked and ready for business Tuesday through Saturday 10am-6pm.

The farm only recieved minor damage due to the flooding seen in the Potsdam area, and we send well wishes to anyone in the community who is dealing with the aftermath of this natural disaster.

We appreciate your patience in the coming weeks as Matthew heals from emergency gallbladder surgery this past Friday. The doctor and CPH took great care of him and he is on the mend and doing well- but he will be on light duty while healing.

The farm will be busy in the coming weeks as we have a lot of weeding to do in the fields and a lot of catching up on tractor work from the many days of rain. All the while feeling blessed and greatful for the abundunce the farm brings in its many forms.

Foothills Market:  The Market is Now Open....

Sorry for the delay – I wasn’t feeling well this afternoon and forgot to click the link to open the market. But it’s open now!

Foothills Market:  The Market is Open!

Foothills Market has a new vendor providing locally-grown mushrooms. The Fortunate Mushroom has lion’s mane mushrooms in either a half-pound or one-pound package. If you are looking for a meat alternative (or something to use with the meats we offer), check it out on the market between now and Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. We’ll have your order ready for pickup on Thursday afternoon.

A side note about business – some people have reported that the emails from the market are going to their junk/spam mail folders. If you haven’t been getting emails from us each Sunday and Wednesday (and still want to!), check that folder. You’ll need to set Foothills Market as “not spam” so your email service will send our messages to your main inbox.

If you no longer want to receive messages at all, you will need to deactivate your account.

Thanks for your patronage!
