Growers News:
Kumaika Coffee: We are a Certified USDA Organic Product provider. We have a small coffee roaster business. We specialize in roasting and crafting small batches of organic, high altitude single origin and fair trade coffee beans. We bring the coffee beans directly from Nicaragua and roast small batches in our home located in Lascassas TN. (SIDE NOTE: Ben and I are enjoying both light and dark roasted)
Calico Farms: For the first time ever, we’re offering our scones to this market – the product that started our entire business. Available in 3 & 6-packs, this weeks’ flavor is one of our most popular – lemon blueberry, a true crowd pleaser! Our scones are organic & dairy-free, like all of our baked goods, and our made with heritage white flour by Sunrise Flour Mill – the most digestable flour I’ve found. We use Miyokos vegan butter which is a heart-healthy blend of cashew & coconut butter. These scones turn scone haters (because most are so dry) into scone-lovers. I promise you will love these!
If you’ve never tried our sinus-relief shower steamers, be sure to have some on-hand for when allergies or cold/flu season hit. They’re truly therapeutic and will break up your congestion with menthol, eucalyptus & peppermint essential oils. They’re a customer favorite. Find them listed in the Wellness section.
Tailwynds Farm: We have some more cuts of beef currently on sale. These include Ribeye, Sirloin, NY Strip, Filet, Porterhouse, Brisket, and Tomahawk.
Safe & Sound Soap Co.: I have added my Large Laundry Soap container. It washes 64 loads of laundry and comes in all my original scents, plus my new scent, Orange Bergamot!
D.B. Collectibles: Need a baby Gift? Check out this adorable baby quilt with embroidered teddy bears on one side and teddy bear fabric on the other. Machine pieced and quilted.
Yentz Family Farm: Good morning, We have updated our listings and added in some restocked items.
We hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! We have been working to restock some of our jarred items and will continue to restock over the next few weeks. This week we have added our Hand Pies as an option as well!
Triple LLL Farm: We have our new February specials posted. We also have added Chicken Thighs and Drumsticks still on sale. We also have added more eggs available
Quarter Spring Farm: We have all of the healthy and delicious pasture raised poultry that your family craves. We are also fully stocked with equally healthy and tasty grass-fed lamb, and we have plenty of free range chicken eggs available this week on the market. As always, we have plenty of skin softening goat milk soaps, shampoo bars, and lotions. Try some today to feel the difference for yourself.
Nash Philly: Nashville Hot Chicken Parmesan? My creative twist on two great dishes. It’s everything you would expect from a chicken parm dish. Tender pan fried chicken cutlets, pounded out, and seasoned with garlic, onion, cayenne, paprika, white pepper and freshly crackled black pepper. Breaded and pan fried to golden brown and delicious. And covered with homemade marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Served with spaghetti noodles. For those of you not keen to spicy things we are also doing a regular chicken Parmesan as well.
Beef Wellington a true American classic. Seared 6 oz sirloin steaks that are wrapped in prosciutto exclusively being sold from the Hammery here in Murfreesboro. And a sautéed mushroom and onions mixture ( mushroom duxelle) wrapped in puff pastry. As you bake this dish watch it come to life with its flakey buttery crust. Surely to wow yourself, significant other or guests.
Collard greens done differently but well. Try these creamed collard greens. It’s like a hardy spinach and artichoke dip but without the need of having chips, but a good piece of bread goes very well with this side.
Lavender Cottage: We are excited to be adding a few more new items. Some seasoning mixes as well as a new powder to our line up. With Valentines just aroud the corner don’t forget to order some freeze dried sweets for your sweetheart!
Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Welcome to the post subarctic blast. I am writing this email before our hilly sheet of ice road has melted having faith the much warmer temps will melt the shady spots by Wednesday. We have freshly made elderberry syrup and plenty of elderberry spilanthes tincture to fight the colds. We use the tincture daily to keep any viruses at bay. They come in 4oz and 2oz sizes.
Pink’s Micros:
This is our WINTER microgren blend! Every season we create new blends to represent the time of year. OUR WINTER blend has ’YELLOW BEETS, RED PAC CHOI, IGLOO CAULIFLOWER and CURLY WATERCRESS.
What better way to start the New Year than with highly nutritional greens called Mirogreens? They pack 40 to 100% more vital nutrients than the adult verion. We grow organically with NON-GMO seeds and nutrient-dense soil. We look forward to providing the best for you in 2024.
RC Farms: We have several items restocked and frozen produce, and
delicious desserts, we’ve been working and preparing our tunnels for spring produce and just finished planting potato this past week. Spring will be here before you know it!
Flying S Farms: We have a few new Happy Chickens added to our flock, don’t be surprised is you see a different colored egg in your carton! We still have our Fresh Farm Eggs Special: Bundle of 3 dozen discounted price or by the dozen. Sour Dough Breads, Friendship Breads, we have added a new Friendship Bread ‘Butterscotch’ to our inventory! Along with delicious Brownies, Biscuits and Jams to name of few. Just a few jars of Cowboy Candy available.

Greenslade Goodies is a local baker of a variety of products. Jesse writes: I bake a variety of flavors of sourdough bread, such as everything bagel flavored sourdough. The sourdough itself is often called the “California Sourdough” because it is sour, not sweet. I make a variety of muffins, cookies, and cinnamon rolls.
Look for Jesse’s baked goods under the “Bakers” category.

MISC MARKET NOTES
Editor’s Note – We couldn’t say it better ourselves so we’re sharing Longears-n-Herbs grower information to introduce the newest member of our market family. Information about soil health and the use of their products is so helpful even if you don’t garden . . and of course there are the other wonderful products. So please get to know Danise a bit through what follows.
God created the land for us to use, tend and nurture for future generations. Our agricultural lands are dwindling and there’s no more being made. Family farms are folding. Urbanization is taking over. Younger generations are moving away from our heritage into bio-farming. With zero waste and sustainable trends rising, our mission is to foster sustainable agriculture. We are committed to helping agriculturalists (farmers/gardeners) be good stewards of our land and restoring our agricultural foundation which was entrusted to us by our forefathers.
BIOSOIL and SOILCARE – Reviving our depleted soils with patented live microbes that create the perfect environment for plant/tree growth and health. Regenerative agriculture is leading the way in higher quality crops, veggies, fruits, etc. with higher yields.
Consistent use can delete fertilizers all together for more beautiful produce whether in ground crops, potted gardening, fruit trees, etc. From the household gardener to the large acreage farmer, these products work and save money.
REBOOT and BALANCER – Our pet and livestock products, REBOOT, REVIVE and BALANCE the PH in the gut. A healthier gut in livestock and pets reduces need for antibiotics, healthier pregnancies, reduces allergies (that are so related to the gut!) The Balancer can even be used as a topical spray on wounds for enhanced skin repair. Both Balancer and Reboot act as Prebiotic/Probiotic microbes.
Endorsed by the American Grass Fed Beef Association.
Longears-n-Herbs also creates Herbal Tinctures available to support many of the body’s systems. Most of the herbs used are locally grown, others are acquired through organic herb farms. Lessening my family’s dependency on synthetic OTC drugs and prescriptions led me to clinical herbalist school to educate myself on more natural ways of supporting normal, healthy bodily function. “Then God said, ’ Let the earth sprout vegetation, herbs yielding seed, fruit trees bearing fruit after its own kind, with seed in them, on the earth, and it was so…and the earth brought forth….and God saw that is was good.” Genesis 1:11-12
Mount Moriah Farms: We just welcomed another doeling onto the farm. She was born on valentine’s day and we named her “valentina”. We will be keeping her as her mother is a wonderful milker! We have been working on adding some new products for sale. One of them Being our “Baby Bottom Cream” The ingredients in this super simple cream are all natural and effective. Zinc oxide is great for adding a barrier between the wet diaper and the skin. This gives the body a chance to heal on its own, without moisture and other not-so-pleasant things interfering with the process.Bentonite clay has amazing healing and detoxifying benefits. It absorbs moisture and removes toxins and impurities. It also fights bacteria. I love using it on my little one, knowing that there are no chemicals in it!
Avalon Farms:
I’m back! Well, sort of. Ha Ha
There aren’t any vegetables yet, but all our tasty jams, pepper jellies, pickles and praline pecans are available again.
Still experiencing some pain in left leg. But SO much better than before. I’ve been able to start working outside for short periods of time. Also have to build up normal strength after being idle for 2 months. Diagnosis is basically nerve compression in lower back and left hip, causing crazy pain. Fun times. With continuing physical therapy and slow careful physical activity I am improving.
Thank you for checking on me and especially for all your prayers. Making a little progress everyday.
Wendy
THIS & THAT
Good News! The Alabama Senate recently voted 32-0 to ban laboratory grown meat in Alabama. 1819 News has a great opinion piece on this issue if you wish to learn more.
Social Media Fun: Hopefully by the time you get to this little paragraph you’ll have time to become one of the first 1000 followers of a great little Instagram account called StrangeThingsInAlabama. Its a fun compilation that covers events, people, places, history and great stories in our state. Your editor is anxiously waiting to see if there’s one about the world’s smallest museum in Seale or the Haunted Chicken House up in Chulafinnee, both right on 431. Who knows what other oddities may lurk on our familiar state highway!
We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!
PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.
If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.
Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!
Martin's Farmstand: Freeze Dried Beets
The farm stand will be open tomorrow afternoon (Saturday Feb 17, 2024) from noon till 5 pm. This evening we went through the display cooler and set things in order. We peeled a batch of garlic cloves and bagged up a fresh batch of shredded red beets from the freeze dryer. Freeze dried beets have a nice sweet crunchy taste and texture. They are good sprinkled on salads or just to snack on. To make these dried beets I just shred and dehydrate raw beets. No salt or anything else. It takes about 8 lbs. of fresh beets for 1 lb. of dried product. Think of us if you are in the market for good wholesome foods such as cabbage, beets, carrots, potatoes, onions, garlic and much more. Enjoy! Daniel
